2017 OC FAIR - READ & RIDE PROGRAM (FREE RIDES!)

Almost as much as I love the fair and all the fantastic food it has to offer. Funnel cakes...yummy.

There's a lot of fun to be had at the 2017 OC Fair - especially for fellow bookworms. We'll have tons of games, entertainment and delicious treats. But don't worry, parents – there will be amazing learning opportunities too.

One such opportunity is the Read & Ride program. Perfect for bookworms – or kids who need a little extra motivation to pick up a book – the program is simple: read two books and get three free carnival rides! 

How to participate in Read & Ride: 

1. Read two books.

2. Write a brief summary (approximately 25 words) of each book.

3. Bring the completed form to Centennial Farm's information booth.

4. Ride three carnival rides! 

The Read & Ride program is open to children ages 5 to 11. Five-year-olds may draw pictures instead of writing a summary. Completed forms must be signed by a parent or teacher, and children must be present to redeem the form for ride tickets. Only one form per child per day; a maximum of two forms may be submitted during the run of the 2017 OC Fair.

The 2017 OC Fair is July 14 through Aug. 13 and will offer 23 days and nights of entertainment, food, rides, shopping, exhibits and more. The Fair is open Wednesdays through Fridays from noon to midnight, and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to midnight.

America's Family Pet EXPO (Ticket Giveaway)

America's Family Pet Expo returns to the OC Fair & Event Center
April 10 - 12

Enthusiasts of all creatures great and small will unite at the America’s Family Pet Expo (AFPE), returning to the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, April 10^th – 12^th.  Marking its 26th year, the AFPE joins cats, dogs, miniature horses, birds, and exotic reptiles, together in this unique event giving show guests the opportunity to experience furry, feathered and scaled friends in a variety of different ways.

AFPE kindly reminds guests that the event is for humans only, pets are not allowed at the Expo, but there are plenty of interactive exhibits, educational shows and demonstrations, as well as the latest in pet trends and products for sale, so your pets won’t need to feel left out. Tickets are on sale now at www.PetExpoOC.org.   

New to the Expo, is the Purina Pro-Plan Performance Team, a high energy dog agility show that will surely be an audience favorite!  Splash Dogs take to the dock, offering a wet-and-wild canine competition, and the ever popular Human Hamster Wheel water attraction will have you running in circles.

Debuting at the 2015 Expo is “Cook’s Racing Hogs & Dogs,” a race that consists of four pigs, which run from one end of a 90-foot U-shaped track to the other.  Four dogs then compete in a similar race.  Waiting at the end of the track is a treat - vanilla ice cream and a golden Oreo cookie!  There is also lots of audience participation with this event, so get ready for some mud-slinging and fur flying fun!

Also returning are the Police Dog & Protection Demonstrations, crime fighting dogs in action showing how they serve and protect our community.  And don’t miss the Free Flight Bird Show where magnificent birds spread their wings and take flight. 

Kids can get in on the action by designing and creating a 10-gallon aquarium in the Kids Aquarium Contest.  There will also be pony rides, face paintings, and The Great American Petting Zoo for the whole family to enjoy.  If adventure calls, be sure to check out the Eurobungy Trampoline brought to you by West Coast Bungy.

Pet Adoptions will be handled on site for those looking for that “purrfect” animal addition to the family.  There will be hundreds of animals hoping to find their forever home from local community partner organizations at the Expo. Last year posted a record of more than 700 adoptions, Expo organizers hope to set a new record for 2015.

OC Fair Super Pass Now Available At Pre-Sale Price

The OC Fair, themed "One Big Party" in 2015, is celebrating it's 125th anniversary and fans can join the 23-day-long party at a fantastic discounted price by purchasing a 2015 OC Fair Super Pass before prices increase.

Early pre-sale prices, available through Feb 28, are General $25 and Senior (60+) / Youth (6-12) $18. Regular pre-sale prices available from March 1-May 31 are General $30 and Senior (60+) / Youth (6-12) $23. Children 5 and younger are FREE.

Each OC Fair Super Pass holder can enjoy admission each of the 23 days of the 2015 OC Fair (July 17-August 16) plus:
