I went with family to a new beach location recently that was beautiful and pretty secluded called Crystal Cove in Newport Beach off of PCH and Newport Coast Blvd. Definitely check it out!
My personal favorite, even thought it can get pretty hectic, is Huntington Beach. We tend to always stay near the pier are cause if we get hungry we can make a run to Ruby's :)
Manhattan Beach is one of my favs-- parking can be a headache on summer weekends, but they have a great downtown area right up from the beach with shops, restaurants, and bars.
